The invention relates to a holder for the variable attachment of a mains-independent illuminating element on a music stand or any sort of retaining or working plate. The holder is clamped on the respective music stand... etc. by means of a clamping string fastened to a retaining clip. The holder for the illumination is designed such that its position can be changed at any time, but does not move on its own as a result of vibrations. An anti-glare device can be mounted on the illuminating element in order to protect against glare. <IMAGE>
