A rotary piston machine has a flexible ring (4) which is deformed at three revolving locations by a rotary piston of triangular cross-section and is held against the internal circumferential surface (6) of the housing space (2) of the rotary piston machine. The flexible ring (4) is fixed between the inlet (7) and the outlet (8) on the inner circumferential surface (6) of the rotary piston machine, with the result that it cannot rotate with the rotary piston (3) within the housing (1). A seal preventing backflow from the outlet (8) to the inlet (7) is thereby created in a simple manner between the inlet (7) and the outlet (8). The rotary piston (3) preferably rolls on the inner circumferential surface of the flexible ring (4) with in each case one rolling element (5) at each of its three corners. <IMAGE>
