A method of producing coloured drip pictures, especially for use in the hobby and leisure sector, in which liquids are dripped onto filter paper and the filter paper is then dried, is intended to provide a way of producing drip pictures in a reproducible manner, the user having a very extensive ability to influence the result as regards shape, colour, size, etc. This is achieved in that filter paper is initially impregnated with a first solution, at least in the region of the drip picture to be produced, and is then dried, and thereafter a first developer solution is dripped onto at least one region, and then at least a second developer solution is applied to this region. A corresponding apparatus is characterised by a tensioning device (1) which is adjustable in its oblique position and has clamping members (4) for clamping the edges of a filter paper sheet (3). <IMAGE>
