<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a liquid crystal display panel having excellent moisture resistance and high display quality, by sealing nematic liquid crystals between a transparent substrate having transparent electrodes and a stretched polymer film contg. dichromatic dies and a similar substrate formed with a metallic oxide film on the surface. CONSTITUTION:Transparent electrodes 14 are formed on an upper substrate 11 by vapor deposition, sputtering, etc. and a polymer film 16 is deposited thereon. The film 16 is produced by stretching a polymer film adsorbed with dichromatic dies in one direction and is provided with polarizability and orientability for orientation of liquid crystal molecules by rubbing in the same direction as the stretching direction after the film is deposited on the substrate. A metallic film is formed on a lower substrate 12 by vapor deposition, sputtering or the like, whereafter the metallic film is oxidized to a metallic oxide film 19, and a transparent electrode 15 and a polymer film 16 are provided thereon. Two sheets of the above-mentioned substrates 11, 12 are assembled opposite to each other at a micro spacing in such a way that the electrodes 14, 15 are located on the inner side and that the stretching directions of the film 16 intersect mutually at 90 deg.. Nematic liquid crystals 13 are sealed in the inside.</p> |
