PURPOSE:To print an image having excellent water resistance and luster, by a method wherein a low melting point film side of a laminate film is brought into contact with a printed surface of a printing medium. CONSTITUTION:Ink droplets ejected from ink heads 1y, 1m, 1c, 1b are adhered to the printing medium 3 rotated by a drum 2 in a scanning manner, thereby printing images such as characters or figures on the medium 3. The medium 3 thus printed is released from the drum 2 by making contact with a releasing roller 4, and the laminate film 7 is laminated on the medium 3 in the condition wherein a low melting point polyethylene film makes contact with the printed surface of the medium 3. The laminate film 7 is fed to heated rollers 9, 9 together with the medium 3, and the polyethylene film is melted. As a result, a high melting point polyester film is adhered to the printed surface of the medium 3. Accordingly, the printed surface of the medium 3 is covered by the high melting point polyester film, whereby luster as well as water resistance is imparted to the printed image. |
