Apparatus for releasing a fish-hook from the mouth of a fish

In order to enable a fish-hook to be released gently from the mouth of a fish, an apparatus is proposed having a tubular sleeve (1) with a seating or guide (2, 21) for a fishing line (7) at the end, in which guide the fixing end (81) of the hook (8) can be introduced and can be fixed by means of a push-rod (4) which is mounted in the sleeve (1) to be displaceable against a restoring spring (5). Preferably, a spiral seating (21) for the fishing line (7) is provided in the extension of the wall of the sleeve (1), approximately concentrically to the axis of the sleeve. The push-rod (4), which is guided centrally in the sleeve (1), can be displaced into the guide (21) via an actuating button (42) projecting out of the sleeve on the other side thereof. After the hook has been fixed in the seating of the apparatus it is connected virtually rigidly to the apparatus and can be manipulated together with the apparatus in a suitable manner such that the hook is released from the mouth of the fish. <IMAGE>
