PURPOSE:To mold and insulate the end sections of a winding positively, to increase the dielectric strength of the end sections of the winding and to elevate the mechanical strength of the winding by molding sections extending over the end surfaces of metallic sheets from insulating sheet sections in both end surfaces of the winding with an insulating material such as a synthetic resin. CONSTITUTION:Metallic sheets 7 and broad insulating sheets 8 lengthened only by a length within a range of decuple-centuple as large as the thickness (t) of the metallic sheets 7 are lap-wound, thus constituting a foil-wound winding. Since the metallic sheets 7 are arranged at the centers of the insulating sheets 8, the insulating sheets 8 are each lengthened vertically only by length within a range of quintuple or fifth times as large as the thickness (t) from both end surfaces of the metallic sheets 7. Sections extending over the end surfaces 21 of the metallic sheets 7 from the insulating sheet sections in both end surfaces of the foil-wound winding constituted in this manner are molded and insulated with an insulating material 10 having excellent insulating performance such as a synthetic resin, thus insulating and treating the end sections of the metallic sheets.
