<p>Apparatus for charging vessels (2) comprises a stand (6) having a number of reservoir holding positions, for a number of reservoirs (3, 4, 5), a rotatable reservoir holder (10) and a rotary valve block (7) with a connector (8) to connect the vessels to be charged, the valve block and reservoir holder together forming a valving system whereby each of the reservoirs can be connected in turn with vessel 2 either by rotating the reservoir holder or, preferably, by rotating the valve block. A method is described for charging vessels, preferably using the described apparatus, by charging successive vessels 2 to a predetermined pressure using a first least full reservoir 3 and then using successive reservoirs, as necessary, in order of increasing content until it is necessary to replace the first least-full reservoir by a new full reservoir. <IMAGE></p> |
