PURPOSE:To promote re-combustion of exhaust gas, by employing an arrangement in which a second chamber located on the downstream side of a first chamber consisting of a front chamber and a rear chamber on the inlet side surrounds the outer surface of the first chamber. CONSTITUTION:An exhaust manifold shown in the drawing is surrounded by a box-like member 13a having a thick wall, and it consists of a thin metal outer liner 13c disposed inside the box-like member 13a with some spacing from the same. A thin metal inner liner 13d, surrounded by the outer liner 13c with some spacing from the same, defines the first chamber consisting of a front chamber 20 and a rear chamber 21 on the inlet side, and it is surrounded by the second chamber 22 located on the downstream side of the first chambers 20, 21. Further, the outer liner 13c is provided with an exhaust-gas discharging pipe 19 and a port 28 communicated to a opening 30, whereas the inner liner 13d is provided with a outlet port 26 registered with a port 28, an inlet port 18 and a baffle 23. |
