PURPOSE:To easily carry out a calibration test of a float type level gauge in a short time without removing it by such an arrangement wherein after the indicator needle of an indicating balance is adjusted to zero point, its hook is hanged on the torque hanger of the float type level gauge to be tested and a load corresponding to the buoyant force of a liquid to be measured is applied to the torque arm by means of an adjusting lever, and under this condition, the display of the level gauge is compared with that of the indicating balance. CONSTITUTION:A piece of chain 47 is hanged on the upper part of a hook 4 connected to the hanging device 48 of a balance 1. At this time, the balance 1 is deviated from the upper device of a level gauge by turning a mounting guide 30 and it is temporarily set at such a position where it has space below, and the length of the chain 47 is to be determined visually so that the lower end of the hook 4 substantially reaches a float hanger 54, and under this condition, the scale of the balance is adjusted to zero. A conduit connected to a storage tank is closed and liquid inside the level gauge to be tested must be drained in advance. The hook 4 is hanged on the float hanger 54 of the level gauge 1. Under this condition, a load corresponding to the buoyant force of the liquid to be measured is applied to a torque arm 55 by adjusting an adjustment nut 44. The level gauge can be calibrated by comparing the value of the indicator of the level gauge itself with that of the balance 1. |
