PURPOSE:To facilitate the suction and discharge of formed slag in the stage of removing impurities by addition of a treating agent into a molten iron bath by adding a fluidity improving agent for slag at the last period of the treatment or after the treatment or between these. CONSTITUTION:In divided refining of molten iron, the fluidity of formed slag is not sufficient depending upon the ways of treatments in respective stages, and this makes the suction and discharge of the slag by a suction type slag cleaner extremely difficult. In such a case, for example >=1 kind of CaF2 sintered ore, pulverized iron ore, etc. are used as a fluidity improving agent for the formed slag. The sintered ore is particularly preferable because it contains a proper amt. of SiO2 other than iron oxide. These fluidity improving agents are added to the molten iron at the end period of the treatment stages or after the treatments or between the last period of the treatment stage and after the end of the treatments to form slag, and the formed slag is removed by suction. |
