PURPOSE:To form plural continuous grooves in longitudinal direction of a wire rod stably and continuously by drawing a drawn wire rod through cutting edges of fixed bites. CONSTITUTION:A material A' is die drawn by dies 4 at reduction of area of about 5-30%. The drawn wire rod A'' is passed between grooving edges 8 of bites 5, 5' fixed to bite holders 6, 6' attached to fixing stands 7, 7' and drawn. The number of groove cutting edges is determined according to required number of grooves, and they are disposed symmetrically so that they are arranged uniformly on the same circumference. By this way, grooving can be performed at high speed and continuously in longitudinal direction of a wire rod without causing deterioration of finished surface due to seizure of bites 5 and wire rod A' and tearing. |
