PURPOSE:To manufacture a composite material coated in a small thickness continuously at high speed, by coating a powdered metal softer than a core material on the core material under the specified condition in the inside of a drawing die consisting of working parts of small die angle and large die angle. CONSTITUTION:A steel wire 2 supplied from a steel wire feeding drum 1 is passed through a polishing device 3, a cleaning device 4, and a heating device 5 in sequence, and then fed into a die box 6. Al powder 14, for example, held by a feeding device 7, is fed into the box 6 and forced into the box under the pressure of >=1kg/cm<2> by a push-in device 8 and a press rod 15. At this time, when the wire 2 is pulled by a take-up capstan 11 at >=10m/min drawing speed, the powdered Al 14 seizes on the circumference of the wire 2, and then, an aluminum coated steel wire 9, a composite material, is manufactured and is coiled up after passing through a cooling device 10. In this case, the box (drawing die) 6 consists of two dies having cylindrical bodies respectively, that is, a die 12, inducing part, has a die angle of 0-10 deg. whole angle and a die 13 has a die angle of 5-30 deg. whole angle, and performs a press-forming of the powder 14. |
