PURPOSE:To mold a casting mold having good accuracy with simple stages by adding water and a binder to refractory particles, kneading the same and packing the mixture in a pattern then heating the mixture to harden by microwaves. CONSTITUTION:1.0-7% water and 0.5-3% org. binder such as starch or synthetic glue are added to refractory particles and these are kneaded. The mixture is packed in the cavity 2b of a pattern 2, thereafter the pattern is charged in a microwave heating furnace and microwaves are irradiated from the circumference of the pattern 2 to heat the casting mold 1 in the pattern 2, thereby hardening the same. The pattern 2 is removed from the microwave heating furnace upon lapse of a prescribed heating time. The pattern 2 is parted and the hardened mold 1 is removed. The mold 1 having sufficient strength and high surface stability is obtained by the above-mentioned method. The amt. of the binder to be used is reduced. |
