PURPOSE:To make welding easy and inexpensive, by using a press contact device which has a notch in the lower part and supports a torch by insulating the same electrically in parallel lap welding of a heat collecting plate and a heating medium tube of a heat exchanger. CONSTITUTION:A press contact device 1 having approximately an L-shape in section consists of a horizontal plate 3 provided with a OMEGA-shaped notch 2 and a base plate 6 with a support 5 provided with a device to be adjusted in the upper part connected vertically to said horizontal plate by means of an intermediate electrical insulator 4. In order to weld a metallic plate 8 and a heating medium tube 9 by using a torch 7 fixed to the device 1, the plate 8 is placed on the tube 9, the tube 9 is fixed, the plate 3 is brought into press contact with the plate 8 by means of a counter weight or the like provided above the device 1, and the plate 8 and the tube are arc welded. The tube 9 and the plate 8 are moved according to the welding to weld both for a desired length continuously and to form beads 10, whereby a heat exchanger 11 is obtained. |
