PURPOSE:To form beveled edges of high accuracy with good workability and productivity, by enabling the optional setting of the angles and forward-backward positions of melt cutters with respect to the surfaces of the work to be prepared of the beveled edges, and cooperating the cutting operations of the melt cutters. CONSTITUTION:The operator adjusts the gas blow ports 61a, 61b of melt cutters 9a, 9b to optimum distances after fixing the work (w) by means of work grasping jaws 5a, 5b, sets inner crank-shaped frames 8a, 8b at a prescribed outside bevel angle by turning said frames and fixes the frames by tightening clamping levers 57a, 57b. The operator loosens clamping levers 31a, 31b for cross feed, rotates handwheels 30a, 30b to move the cutters 9a, 9b by the rate of deviation with cross feed means 29a, 29b until the pointer coincides with a reference line and fixes the cutters by clamping the levers 31a, 31b, thereby setting the outside bevel depth for the work (w). Now, the operator ignites the cutters 9a, 9b, starts driving means 60a, 60b and melt cuts the flange side end part of the work (w) by the feed operation of a vertical feed shaft, thereby forming the intended outside bevel. |
