PURPOSE:To perform information transmission and reception to and from an exchange in digital signal format and to improve the speed and reliability of the transmission by providing a multifunctional telephone set which switches and connects data terminals to the main channel network of the exchange, and equipping this telephone set with various data terminals. CONSTITUTION:The multifunctional telephone set 30 normally has a voice side, i.e. handset T/R connected. For data transmission, a start signal is sent from a data terminal 40. In the telephone set 30, once the start signal is detected by a start signal detecting circuit 33, an interruption signal generating circuit 34 is started to cause interruption to a processor 36. By the information in a storage circuit 37, the processor 36 confirms the reception of the start signal and then controls the detecting circuit 33 to connect the terminal 40 to a voice/data switching circuit 31 through the detecting circuit 31. The processor 36, on the other hand, controls the switching circuit 31 to connect a transmission line 50 from the handset side T/R to the data terminal side 40. Thus, the terminal 40 is connected to the main channel network 10. |
