Depot bodies, for administering active substance such as androgens, estrogens, and prostaglandins to the skin of cattle over a prolonged period, consist of silicone rubber (crosslinked), drug-release promoting substances; alcs., esters, and ethers (C8-60) (5-40% by wt.) and the active substances. Testosterone (I) 3.2 and 17β-estradiol (II) 0.32 g were placed on the surface of the mixt. contg. dimethylpolysiloxane (addn. crosslinking), caprylic/capric acid 1,2-propanediol diester 2.967 (corresponding to 20% of release-promoting substance) and dimethylpolysiloxance 1.192 g and evacuated.
