摘要

PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic recording medium having improved running properties without increasing the overall thickness by forming a thermoplastic resin layer contg. a specific polymer material and a lubricant on the rear of a plastic film substrate having a thin film of a magnetic metal contg. cobalt on the surface. CONSTITUTION:A thermoplastic resin layer consisting essentially of a specific polymer material, for example, a PVC-vinyl acetate copolymer or contg. a phenoxy resin and a lubricant is formed on the rear of a plastic film substrate. The lubricant having good compatibility with thermoplastic resins selected among generally used lubricants for plastics is used. The lubricant is used preferably in a concn. range of 0.5-20pts. The thermoplastic resin contg. lubricant to be formed on the plastic film substrate is used preferably in contents ranging 10-500mg/m<2>. Said thermoplastic resin layer is formed simply by coating a soln. prepd. by dissolving the lubricant and the thermoplastic resin in a suitable org. solvent on the plastic film substrate by general coating methods.
