PURPOSE:To control the heat generation of a transmitting amplifier mounted on a communication satellite constantly, by controlling a signal supplied from an earth station to the amplifier so that the radio wave output signal of the amplifier is invariably constant for a prescribed unit time. CONSTITUTION:The satellite 1 receives a transmitted radio wave signal and amplifies it and the resulting signal is further power-amplified by the transmitting amplifier and transmitted from an antenna. When the received radio wave is small, its transmitted radio wave output is also small and the heat generation of the amplifier increases accordingly. For this purpose, the radio wave output transmitted from the satellite 1 is monitored by a reception level detector 4 and the output amplitude of a signal to be transmitted to the satellite 1 is controlled automatically so that the mean value of the monitored level is constant for a prescribed unit time. Under this control, the radio wave output of the transmitting amplifier of the satellite 1 becomes constant for the time and its heating value also becomes constant. In this case, the control is only performed so that the heating value is within the range of the radiation performance of the satellite 1. |
