PURPOSE:To eliminate various faults resulting from the interposition of an acoustic coupler by connecting a multifunctional telephone set to the main channel network of a telephone exchange, and sending out a start signal to a data terminal and connecting the terminal to the main channel network through switching. CONSTITUTION:The multifunctional telephone set 30 is connected to a voice side normally. For data transmission, keys on the telephone set 30 are pressed to connect a transmission line 50 to a data terminal side 40. The key information KEY is detected by a key information detecting circuit 38 and sent to a processor 36. On the basis of information in a storage circuit 37, the processor 36 controls a start signal generating circuit once confirming that the information is a request for switching. A start signal is generated by a start signal generating circuit 34 and added by a start signal adding circuit 33 to be sent out to the data terminal 40. Further, the processor 36 controls the start signal adding circuit 33 to connect the data terminal 40 to a voice/data switching circuit 31. Similarly, the transmission line 50 is connected to the terminal terminal side 40. Thus, the terminal 40 is connected to the main channel network 10. |
