PURPOSE:To prevent consumption of a graphite furnace, by cooling the furnace by flowing a fluid having a higher temperature than the normal temperature around a sample placing part for heating the sample. CONSTITUTION:An electric current for heating is supplied from a constant current power source 31 by a cord 33 to a graphite furnace 34. In order to expel the air in the furnace 34, goseous Ar is supplied to the furnace 34 from a gaseous Ar bomb 40 through a piping 41. Water having 5-10 deg.C higher temperature than that of the atmosphere surrounding the furnace 34 is fed from a constant-temperature water bath 45 of a circulating water to the furnace 34 through a piping 46 and said water is returned to the bath 45 through a piping 47 and then, a water cooling part of the furnace 34 is kept at a higher temperature than that of the atmosphere. Hereby, dew condensation and water adsorption to an electrode and quartz window of the furnace 34 are eliminated and consumption of the graphite furnace 34 is prevened. |
