PURPOSE:To precisely detect the double sending of a slip, by reading out the slip by a scanner and recognizing the binary-coded density information as characters in the density level range corresponding to about 2/3 the low level side of the whole density level range. CONSTITUTION:In a density level range lower than a reference level, a binary- coding circuit 3 for the detection of double sending converts the density information read out by the scanner 1 into a binary-coded value to store the value in a picture storage device B5. A controlling device 11 checks the result of character recognition for the density information read out from the picture storage device B5, and when the characters more than a prescribed number are recognized, decides the generation of double sending of the slip. Subsequently, the device 11 makes a CRT display device 14 display an error meassage and sends a stop command for slip sending to a mechanism controlling circuit 12. |
