PURPOSE:To lower the concentration of oxygen in exhaust gas as far as possible so as to perform efficient combustion, by setting the ratio of the effective area of a primary air path to the effective area of a total air path at a specified value. CONSTITUTION:Air or a mixed gas 14 of air with recirculated exhaust gas is introduced into a wind box 4, then is divided by a primary air sleeve 6 into a primary air 12 and a secondary air 13, and the primary air 12 is used for burning the fuel jetted from a burner tip 2 at the tip of a fuel atomizer 1. On the other hand, the secondary air 13 is introduced along the outer wall of the secondary air sleeve 7 into a fire furnace 18. In this case, when the ratio of the effective sectional area of the primary sleeve to the total effective sectional area of the total air path is set in the range of 0.125 to 0.365, the concentration of oxygen in the exhaust gas is lowered critically, and correspondingly the efficiency of the boiler is critically increased in this range. |
