PURPOSE:To cut a multicell having scores to individual optical cells, by forming a gap between said multicell and a supporing table or a supporting plate and pressurizing the outer side of the multicell through an elastic material. CONSTITUTION:Scores are formed on a multicell in mutually perpendicular directions with diamond cutters in order to divide the same to individual cells. Both ends of the multicell 1 are disposed on spacers 6 provided on a supporting table or a supporting plate 7, and an elastic member 8 and a pressurizing member 9 are disposed thereon. The member 9 is thereafter pressurized under pressure P, whereby the member 8 can be formed to the shape suited for cutting of the multicell 1. The multicell 1 is deformed to a curved shape in this stage and the multicell 1 is cut along the scores formed in mutually perpendicular directions to the multicell 1. |
