<p>PURPOSE:To read out vertical and horizontal bar-codes by one sensor and to precisely discriminate the bar-codes by discriminating the vertical and horizontal bar-codes by preset counters and a flip-flop. CONSTITUTION:An output A from an image sensor 2 is shaped by a shaping circuit and then inputted to counters 11, 12. The counters 11, 12 count up the number of bits of each of white and black levels in one scanning period of an image sensor 2. When the counted value exceeds a preset value, output signals BR1, BR2 are outputted respectively. In case of the vertical bar-codes, only one signal SYN is outputted. In case of the horizontal bar-codes, the same number of signals as the horizontal bar-codes are outputted. When a thick bar-code is detected, an output F1Q of the flip-flop 21 is sent and converted from a series signal to a parallel one by a shift register 24.</p> |
