The invention relates to a spinning rotor in open-end spinning units, having a collecting groove (3) which is delimited by a supporting wall (4) and which merges on one side into the slip wall (2) and on the other side into the bottom (6) of the collecting groove (3), there adjoining this bottom (6) an outer forming wall delimiting the collecting groove (3) from the other side and merging into the bottom face of the spinning rotor. To eliminate impurities in the form of dust, according to the invention the supporting wall (4) of the collecting groove (3) is constituted by a cylindrical surface extending from the bottom (6) of the collecting groove (4) in the direction of the slip wall (2) or by an essentially conical surface widening from this bottom (6) in the direction of the slip wall (2), each of these surfaces merging respectively into the slip wall (2) via a transition (5) preferably constituted by an essentially radial transition wall (8). <IMAGE>
