Pneumatic hammer (1) with a stand (2), in which the drive comprising a motor (3) and crank mechanism (5, 6) is mounted, and with an upper cantilever (7) for accommodating a driving piston-cylinder unit (8) and a working piston-cylinder unit (9), with two air lines (15, 16), which connect the cylinders (11, 13), in each case above and below the two pistons (12, 14), and with an air intake valve (17) arranged in the end wall (56) of the driving cylinder (11), in which pneumatic hammer the cantilever (7) is designed as an essentially closed chamber (28) in which both piston-cylinder units (8, 9) are arranged, the interior of the chamber (28) is connected to the outside air only via an oil separator (26) and a filter (27), and at least some of the walls of the chamber (28) are sound-proofed. <IMAGE>
