The invention relates to a radiation receptor for thermal radiation. Such radiation receptors are generally of only very low mass in order for them to be able to react sensitively to thermal radiation sources. As a result of the low mass, the radiation receptors are often, however, too sensitive, so that control systems in which such radiation receptors are arranged are too frequently engaged. In order to avoid this disadvantage, the invention makes provision for the connection, upstream of the receptor plate of the radiation receptor and at a distance in the radiation direction, of an additional, external receptor plate which is held at a thermally insulated distance from the internal receptor plate. This produces, without an appreciable rise in thermal capacity, a delay in the reaction of the radiation receptor, which permits operation with substantially longer times for the various reaction states.
