The invention relates to telecommunications systems with at least one primary station and one or more sub-stations, where fault events in the sub-stations are automatically transmitted to the primary station. The sub-stations (UA) and the primary station (HA) each have counting devices (UZE and HZE respectively) with initial positions which are adapted to the alarm signalling and which differ in terms of the signal pulse strings and control the counters in such a way that transmission and reception of the different alarms in the primary station (HA) and the respective sub-station (UA) can be identified. <IMAGE>
