SELECTOR FOR RADIOACTIVE POLLUTED MATTER

PURPOSE:To achieve an efficient selection of polluted matters by a method wherein a pluraity of radiation detectors are arranged continuously along the conveying direction in a mechanism for conveying a matter to be detected and detection outputs thereof are added, multiplied and processed into signals, by which matters to be detected in the pollution are sorted. CONSTITUTION:Detection bodies 102 and 102 are arranged vertically on a body 101 leaving a clearance there between and a belt conveyor 104 is provided between the bodies 102 and 102 to convey clothings 103 to be detected. Radiation detectors 105a-105c are provided along the conveying direction of the conveyor 104 and the detection output thereof is provided to a signal processing circuit 101a to be memorized into a memeory circuit 106. Regarding signals memorized in the circuit 106, those from the detectors 105a and 105b read out delayed each by (2/3)XT and (1/3)XT and those from the detectors 105a-105c added 107 together when the time during which the clothing 103 passes by the body 102 is represented by T. When the added value exceeds the reference, the output of a comparator 108 controls a sorting mechanism 109 thereby enabling an efficient processing.
