PURPOSE:To obtain small-sized picture screen by providing a system in which plural heating elements are grouped into plural blocks and the same content of pictures are drawn in each block for a heat-sensitive printer in which current is supplied for a time period corresponding to picture density tones. CONSTITUTION:During the printing period for 1/4 size of a picture screen consisting of 1024X512 picture elements, clock pulse P3 of an oscillator VCO15 is counted by an address counter 16 through a switch 26, and on the basis of the indication, only odd- or even-numbered field data of picture signals are read out. Also, flip-flop 27 is set by output of 4th bit Q3 of the counter 16, gate signal PG is output, 0-7th or 247-255th address are blanked by blank gate 29, resetting is made by outputs Q3-Q7, 240th data are read out of a memory, and printing is made in the first block of plural heating elements and then in the second block. Thus, 1/4 size of two picture screens can be obtained. |
