PURPOSE:To permit the low-cost color printing with high definition of pictures by a method in which several colors of heat-transferrable ink layers are continuously arranged along the lengthwise direction on a belt-like base material, and the lengths of each ink layer are equalized with the width of the recording paper. CONSTITUTION:Heat-transferrable ink layers 9Y, 9M and 9C containing transparent or opaque coloring materials of yellow, Magenta and cyanine are formed on a 3-25mum-thick plastic or paper base material 8 having a proper heat resistance, excellent heat conductivity and a density of 0.8-1.5g/cm<2>. In this case, the amount of the coloring materials is 1-20pts.wt. on the basis of 100pts.wt. total amount of ink layers, and 20-80pts.wt. a binder and 3-25pts.wt. a softening agent are also included, in the ink layers. These ink layers 9Y, 9M and 9C are continuously arranged along the lengtwise direction of the base material 8 and their lengths are equalized practically with that of the recording paper 7, in which these ink layers are arranged in such a way that colors are orderly lapped in one section from one end to the other end of the recording paper 7 to form a color picture. |
