PURPOSE:To prevent the contact between a disc and a seat by appling the pressurized water in an auxiliary ballance chamber provided at the sliding section between a ballance disc secured to a rotary shaft and a ballance seat secured to the casing. CONSTITUTION:An auxiliary ballance chamber 11 is provided on a sliding face between a ballance seat 4 and a ballance disc 2, where the pressurized water is fed through a path 13 from the exterior of a pump at the starting of a pump to increase the water pressure in said chamber 11 thus to enlarge the gap between a ballance disc 2 and the ballance seat 4, and to prevent the contact between the disc and the seat. Here a thrust collar 9 and a thrust bearing 10b are started under the contacted state, the gap (a) is held at the suitable level immediately after starting to hold the gaps (b), (c) at the bearing section to the suitable level thus to prevent the contact of the sliding section at the start of the pump thus to prevent the burning or the gnawing. |
