The invention extends to a method and a device for calibrating an optical measuring device which serves to measure a dimension of an object. The measuring device consists of a vector camera (2) and a mirror (1) which is curved in the shape of a paraboloid or circle and by means of which the light beams are reflected into the camera, as well as a microcomputer coupled to the camera. Calibration is performed preferably by using a plate which consists of two parallel measuring scales (4, 5) and whose measuring scales are illuminated sequentially and recorded, the illumination being performed by a fluorescent lamp (6, 7) arranged behind the measuring scale. The measuring scales consist of transparent and opaque panels, an opaque panel of one scale being adjacent to a transparent panel of the other scale in each case. Calibration is preferably performed automatically and in sufficiently rapid succession, the microcomputer carrying out the adjustments necessary to eliminate the errors established during calibration. <IMAGE> |
