PURPOSE:To facilitate fitting of a pipe joint adapter into a spherically shaped expanded part, by a method wherein an outer mold is removed while a hemispherical part on the opening end side of a spherically shaped expanded part of a pipe is under a temperature condition within an elastic range, and a core body is removed by enlarging an opening part of the expanded part. CONSTITUTION:A synthetic resin material is injection molded by a metallic mold 1 to produce a pipe 2 having one end 2A expanded in a spherical hollow shape, and while the hemispherical part 2A' on the opening end side of the spherically shaped expanded part 2A is under the temperature condition within the elastic range, the outer mold 1A' is removed and the core body 1B is drwan out. Then, while the hemispherical part 2A' is under the temperature condition within the elastic range, the opening part 2B is enlarged and deformed, and the pipe joint adapter 3 separately molded and having a spherically shaped outside surface is pressed into the interior of the expanded part 2A together with a rubber ring fitted on the outside periphery of the adapter 3. Further, by using the adapter 3 as an internal support, the enlarged part of the spherically shaped expanded part is shaped into a spherical shape by applying a pressure to the outside periphery thereof in directions towards the center thereof. |
