PURPOSE:An article, prepared by laminating a ground layer capable of nitriding a material, applied thereto, and containing a substance having the disoxidizing effect and further a nitriding thin film on a substrate, and having a lubricating layer capable of reducing the surface damage in running as a magnetic recording medium, and having improved abrasion resistance, corrosion resistance, etc. CONSTITUTION:An article prepared by applying a ferromagnetic metal, e.g. Co or Ni, to a substrate 1 consisting of a synthetic resin film, e.g. polyethylene (PE) or polypropylene (PP), by the vacuum vapor deposition, etc., applying a substance, e.g. V or Mo, and a substance, e.g. H or C, to the resultant magnetic layer 2 by the vacuum deposition or ion plating, etc. to form a ground layer 3, and forming a lubricating layer 4 of As, Si, Al, etc. on the ground layer 3 in an atmosphere of N2 gas containing Ar or H2 and/or NH4 gas by the vacuum deposition or ion plating. |
