PURPOSE:To enhance close contact performance at the time of casting a crank case, by furnishing many projections stretching in the plumb direction at the outside circumferential surface of cylinder liner, by giving these projections reducing width and height toward down, and by providing grooves between projections. CONSTITUTION:Projections 2 are formed plumbly at the outside circumferential surface of a cylinder liner 1, where the side face 3 in the axial direction is identical to a radial line from the center 5 of the liner 1. The upper part of each projection 2 is formed with a width W1 and a height H1 while the lower part is with a narrower width W2 and a lower height H2, where their relation shall be as 10mm.>=W1>W2>=1mm., 5mm.>=H1>H2>=0.2mm.. Grooves 4 are formed between projections to provide good release of the gas generated at the time of casting the crank case. |
