PURPOSE:To provide both a satisfactory stiffness and a satisfactory sound- absorbing property, by a method wherein a resin liquid or a resin dispersed liquid is applied to at least one side of a glass wool mat having an average fiber diameter of 3-10mu in a quantity of 5-50g(solids)/m<2>, followed by molding under heat and pressure. CONSTITUTION:A resin liquid or a resin dispersed liquid containing a vinylidene chloride resin, polyethylene, polypropylene, a vinyl chloride resin or the like is prepared. The resin liquid or the resin dispersed liquid is applied to at least one side of the glass wool mat having an average fiber diameter of 3-10mum and a surface density of 200-800g/m<2>, in a quantity of 5-50g(solids)/m<2> by spray coating, a flow coater or the like. Then, the mat thus coated is introduced into a heat and pressure molding machine, and is molded by exerting a compressive pressure of not higher than about 150kg/cm<2> by a top force for about 30sec- 10min to obtain a molded article having a desired shape. |
