A phenoxybutyltriazole compound represented by the following formula (I): <IMAGE> (I) wherein X is a halogen atom, a phenyl group or a 5-trifluoromethylpyridine-2-yloxy group; Y is a halogen atom or a trifluoromethyl group; Q is a >C=O group or a >CH-OH group; A is a >CH- group or a nitrogen atom; and m and n are each an integer of 0 to 2, or a salt thereof, which is useful as an active ingredient for agricultural and horticultural fungicides, is disclosed. A process for producing the compound of the formula (I) is also disclosed.
