THROTTLE VALVE FOR AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION

A transmission throttle valve(139) is engaged by the accelerator pedal of the vehicle. A throttle pressure(165) is variable with the movement of the accelerator pedal and is supplied to a pressure regulator valve (128) & a shift valve (132) in the absence of a failure in the mechanical linkage. When it fails to engage the linkage between the accelerator pedal & the throttle valve, a line pressure(144) instead of throttle pressure(165) is supplied to the pressure regulator valve.
