PURPOSE:To improve effective resolution for positions by moving a polygonal pattern enclosing a position light spot by one unit when the change rate of the position light spot by a dot matrix type diplay arrives at 1/integer of the spacing between unit picture elements. CONSTITUTION:The space between picture elements 1 formed of, for example, all uniform light emitting diodes or liquid crystals is 2.54mm., and shows the position light spot itself. This invention displays the position of a navigating body by indicating the approximate position of said body as a position light spot by the light emission or coloring of the unit picture elements, further constituting a polygonal pattern enclosing said position light spot or a polygonal pattern including said position light spot in part of the constitution by superposition of the unit picture elements and displaying the polygonal shape in the emission of light or coloring to the lightness or color differing from that of the position light spot. The position light spot 2 of, for example, the own ship, is at the center of a square pattern 3. When the own ship navigates east for the distance corresponding to 2.54/5=0.508mm., the spot 2 remains static and the pattern 3 moves rightward by 2.54mm. toward the figure and approaches to the spot 2, thus forming a square pattern 4. |
