The clamp comprises a disc (2) welded around a vertical scaffold tube (1) and provided with an upwardly flanged rim (12), a downwardly open U-section (5,6,11) member (4) at the end of a horizontal scaffold tube (3) whose outermost portion (11) hooks over the flange (12), and a wedge (8; 9,10) driven through a slot (7) in the horizontal portion (6) of the U-section to press the portion (11) laterally into contact with the flange (12). The flange has an inwardly concave inner contour (14) as seen in cross-section and the hook (11) has a complementary outwardly convex contour (13) such that hook and flange are locked together in axial direction after the wedge is driven in.
