The invention deals with novel peptides useful for the therapeutic treatment of infectious diseases caused by pathogenic microorganisms, having the structure: <IMAGE> wherein R1 is hydrogen or acyl, R2 is lower alkyl, R3 is carboxy or protected carboxy, R4 is hydroxy(lower) alkyl, R5 is carboxy or protected carboxy, R6 is carboxy or protected carboxy, and R7 is hydrogen or an amino protective group and their therapeutically acceptable salts.
