PURPOSE:To measure the level of liquid at low temp. smoothly, by fitting a helical spring to an up and down type liquid level indicator. CONSTITUTION:A helical spring 12 is fitted to a cylindrical part 15 of an up and down type liquid level indicator with a spring 13. A top end 2 is positioned at a level D of a gas area 16 in a cryostat 4 by force of spring. In case of measuring a level 8, the top end 2 is pressed down to be brought into contact with the level 8 so that a sensor 3 detects the level 8 immediately. After the detection of the level is ended, the level indicator is returned to a former position by restoring force of the spring and the top end is positioned at the level D. By such a way, the sensor 3 is brought into contact with the liquid only at the time of measuring the level 8. |
