PURPOSE:To inform the user of the azimuth aurally, by shortening the period of generating a noticing tone along with the angle formed between a prescribed directional position of a timepiece and the magnetic needle of an azimuth meter approaches 0 deg.. CONSTITUTION:When the N pole of a magnetic needle 2a of an azimuth meter 2 is still at an angle alpha to the north, the noticing tone is generated at intervals of 0.5sec. Intervals of generation of the reporting tone become shorter along with an approach of this angle alpha to 0 deg.; and when the angle alpha becomes 0 deg., the noticing tone is generated continuously or approximately continuously. |
