PURPOSE:To prevent a reference front from damage by the adapted face of a stopper, by limiting a feed of the spindle of a machine tool which machines a prescribed depth from the reference front. CONSTITUTION:Before a tool 55 is contacted to a reference front A of a work 3, an adapted face of a stopper 4 positioned to a forward limit for a spindle 1 by a forward limit limiting means 69 can be adapted to the front A under a no- rotational condition, and the spindle is fed while being rotated to advance to a place for the stopper by a slide amount set larger than a prescribed depth, here the slide for the spindle is stopped by a stopper rearward limit limiting means 40. As a result, a feed of the spindle is limited to establish a machining depth and eliminate damage of the adapted face by the stopper. |
