PURPOSE:To improve the system efficiency of a computer, by providing a general register group determined with an instruction control circuit, designating a register tacitly to the subsequent instruction based on the content of stroage, and reducing the size of instruction. CONSTITUTION:When an instruction decoder 6 decodes a prescribed instruction, the register number included in the instruction is stored at an instruction control circuit 11. The circuit 11 is provided with a latest register number storage register 12 storing the register number included in the prescribed instruction stored in the instruction register 5 and a switch circuit 13 which is controlled with a detection signal DS at the specified instruction decode from the decoder 6, swithcing selects the content of register number stored in the register 12 in place of the register number designated content of the register 5. Plural general register groups 8 designated with the circuit 11 performs tacit register designation to the subsequent instruction based on the content of storage. |
