PURPOSE:To accommodate one type of characters and arabic numerals only in a character pattern dictionary, to reduce the capacity of a storage device and to attain input of various characters, by providing a character modification information recognizing section and a character code converting dictionary section and a character recognizing section to a character input means. CONSTITUTION:A coordinate signal inputted on a tablet 1 is recognized at a character recognizing section 1 to convert into a character code, and the character code is inputted to a character code conversion dictionary section 3. A character modification information recognizing section 4 recognizes the modified information on the tablet 1, converts it into a specified internal code and inputs it to the dictionary section 3. In the dictionary section 3, the character code recognized at the section 1 is converted into the other modified character code and inputted to a character processing and editing section 7 connected to a keyboard 5. In the character pattern dictionary, any of Hiragana (round form of Japanese syllabary), Katakana (square form of Japanese syllabary), English small letters and English capital letters and arabic numerals only are accommodated to reduce the storage capacity and to input various characters. |
