摘要 916,885. Injectors. SOC. BERTIN & CIE. April 8, 1960 [April 24, 1959], No. 12614/60. Class 71. [Also in Groups XXVI and XXXIII] An ejector for producing lift on an aircraft has a diffuser comprising movable walls which when retracted complete the aerodynamic contours of the aircraft. In Fig. 1, a spanwise extending slot nozzle 4, or a spanwise extending series of closely spaced holes, discharges gas into a diffuser comprised of spanwise extending aerofoil section walls 2, 3, and end plates 16 (one shown). The walls also act as high lift flaps. When retracted, the end plates and wall 3 are moved together to the positions 16a, 3b, and wall 2 is moved to position 2b, the two walls completing the aerofoil section of the wing 1. The end plates are at all times aligned with the relative wind. In Fig. 2, spanwise extending slot nozzles 9, 10 or series of holes, discharge gas into a diffuser comprising spanwise extending aerofoil section walls 7, 8 and end plates 17 (one shown). One end plate may form part of the fuselage. Airflow is induced through a convergent duct 5 in the wing 1. The walls are retractable to positions 7a, 8a fairing off duct 5, the end plates remaining fixed. Plates 11 are pivotable about axes 12 between the position shown when the ejector is operative, and a position flush with the wing upper surface to fair off duct 5. Each nozzle 4 or 9 may have a flap 15, Fig. 3, movable about an axis 15a or an axis outside the flap, Fig. 4 (not shown), to vary the direction of discharge of gas. A further discharge from a slot 14, Fig. 2, at the wing trailing edge follows the upper surface of a movable flap 13. Speeifieations 847,500 and 877,766 are referred to.
